Diwali Dhamaka
Diwali is a festival of lights and one of the major festivals celebrated in Indian and around the world. Indians In Korea (IIK) community members celebrated the Diwali Dhamaka [festival of lights] on a grand scale in the in Seoul for more than 13 years. Both a modern and traditional celebration entertain families, students and community members. IIK Diwali Dhamakadisplayed the significance and meaning of Diwali to an audience of more than 500, which included a colorful mix of guests from both the Indian community in Korea and the wider Korean and foreign community. In general, program began with lighting a traditional lamp by the chief guest [Indian Ambassador to South Korea] followed by various entertainment and games from our community members. In addition to that many spectacular array of performances such as kids fancy dress show, Bollywood songs and dance performance from Indian community members as well as Korean dance group. IIK Diwali Dhamaka is certainly one of the biggest Indian community event in South Korea.

Holi Hungama
The Indian spring festival “Holi” is best known for its celebratory explosion of color, used to celebrate at Seoul every year, however we could not managed to celebrate in person for the last two years due to Covid-19. This does not stop us celebrating Holi and IIK has continuously organizing event online in a creative manners. Before Covid-19, under the clear and bright spring skies “IIK Holi Hungama” commenced with meet-up of more than 300 guests and participants splash each other with every color of the rainbow to symbolize the joy, love of the community and beginning of new colorful season.
Live Indian Bollywood DJ tracks scaled-up the energy levels in adults as well as the little ones. Participants also enjoyed taking walks around the park, as well as engaging in friendly competition through spirited games. After the games and festivities, the participants enjoyed delicious Indian lunch, followed by prizes for the winners of the games and a lucky draw. The afternoon concluded on a joyous appreciation and a smile on every face.
